Boxwood belongs to the botanical family of buxus and is used for the scroll, tailpiece, bushers,
heads and filling material. Its wood is firm and very dense with a
light yellow color. The dark color of the pegs and tailpiece is achieved
with the use of dye (often saltpeter acid).
